You can request specific advice on how the super laws apply to a specific SMSF transaction or arrangement.

Super Fund LookUp

Super Fund Lookup contains publicly available information about super funds that have an ABN. It includes super funds regulated by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA).

Employers can utilise this service to determine whether employer contributions qualify as superannuation guarantee payments.

SMSFmemberTICK

The self-managed super fund (SMSF) member TFN Identity Check (SMSFmemberTICK) service allows SMSF trustees and their nominated intermediaries to match member details to information held by the ATO using the member’s TFN and other key identity information.

SMSF trustees who receive a request to rollover their member’s super balance to another fund must use the SMSFmemberTICK service to verify the member’s TFN before making the rollover.

Fund Validation Service

If rolling over to an APRA-regulated fund, verify details using the Fund Validation Service

Your APRA-regulated fund must provide rollover and contribution details of its products on the Fund Details Register. You do this using the Fund Validation Service (FVS).

SMSF verification service (SVS) for rollovers

Funds that receive a request to rollover member’s super to a SMSF must use the SMSF verification service (SVS).

SMSF early engagement and voluntary disclosure service

You should voluntarily disclose regulatory contraventions that remain unrectified without waiting for your SMSF auditor to advise the ATO.

You can do this by contacting the ATO through the early engagement and voluntary disclosure service.

Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC)

Anyone who runs a self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) must ensure that a registered SMSF auditor audits the fund annually.

Use the Australian Securities & Investment Commission (ASIC) website to check whether your auditor is registered.
