Concessional contributions

Concessional contributions include:

  • employer contributions, such as super guarantee and salary sacrifice contributions
  • personal contributions made by the member for which they have claimed a personal tax deduction.

Concessional contributions are subject to a yearly cap. Depending on the member’s total superannuation balance, the cap may be increased where the member has unused amounts from the 5 prior concessional contributions caps.

Concessional contributions are included in the SMSF's assessable income.
