Websites

Back in the early days, many websites were just a general information board for the business and required an engineer to build it for you.

These days there are many website builder services that provide you with design templates, hosting services, online sales and marketing tools and more. It’s now a lot easier to build your website and there is more flexibility when choosing the features you want at more affordable prices.

A quick online search will bring up a number of options, for example Wix.com, Shopify, WordPress.

In general, many website builders provide similar services but there are some differences. You can find reviews and comparison information on the internet. Some will give you a free trial so you can test their service before making your decision. This is useful as you don’t want to spend your money on something that is not suitable for your business.

Many website builders provide a drag and drop function, where you can select specific functions from the menu and drag it onto your webpage, so it’s easier to build and edit each page you want to create. They provide design templates for you to choose from. It’s fairly quick and easy to build a website but depending on the service offered, it may be harder to customise the website once it’s published.

Some website builders provide online sales features such as ‘add to cart’ and ‘pay online’, some allow you to link ads to social media.

Most of these companies have monthly fees and have different plans which provide different levels of features. It’s important to shop around to find what’s best for your business
