When you make a mistake

The ATO understand that mistakes happen occasionally.

If you realise you’ve made a mistake on your BAS or annual GST return, it’s better to correct it as soon as you find out.

If you’re not sure how to do this, check the ATO website, use ‘Ask Alex’, ask a question on ATO Community, or call your registered tax adviser or the ATO.

They will support you to fix it. It might be as simple as adjusting your next BAS or revising a previous one.
