Your STP-enabled payroll product may offer online commencement forms for new employees to complete in ATO online services. These forms allow your employee to complete their TFN declaration form and superannuation standard choice form online. This is designed to streamline the set-up process.

Your employee must complete online commencement forms within 28 days of starting work.

Once completed, they can submit the information directly to the ATO and provide you with a printed copy. You don't need to return the forms to the ATO. Simply input the information into your business systems and the employee is ready to go.

Note that if your STP-enabled payroll product does not offer online commencement forms, go to ato.gov.au to get the forms.
