Information you need to get from new employees

Once you have hired an employee you need to ask them to complete:

  • a tax file number (TFN) declaration form, which is used for tax and super purposes 
  • a superannuation standard choice form, which ensures that eligible employees are paid super into their chosen super fund. 

The forms enable you to work out how much tax to withhold based on the tax tables, and which super fund to pay your employee’s super into.
